Complaint by Dick Huisman :

Noticed something real weird poking around my server logs lately, like someone’s testing the doors but doesn’t know what they’re looking for. First thought, maybe it’s a misconfigured bot or just someone super lost, but nah, patterns too odd. Fail2ban’s going nuts at all hours, had to check if there’s some DDoS or brute force going on. Not really sure what they’re after, nothing here but my dumb blog and recipe draft anyway. Why don’t people just chill and not mess with random folks’ stuff for fun? Suspicious traffic always comes at the worst times, like right when you’re about to head out. Anyone else seeing these shenanigans lately or just my luck? Kinda tempted to redirect them to Rickroll next time. Y’all stay safe out there, internet’s weird as always.

Not even 7am and already had to block someone poking around where they shouldn’t be. Looks like someone needs a new hobby besides scanning my logs for fun.

Complaint by JJC :

I was shocked when I discovered that my gmail had been hacked into. I investigated and found that a filter had been used to forward my email to RodCollinsAssoc@comcast.net. I immediately deleted the filter, changed my password and security information and put up a firewall. Google Mail thankfully keeps a history of activity as well as the IP Address from where the action was taken. The IP Address was obviously not mine. It was 107.39.80.191, which is a fraudulent IP Address located in Kansas. How does this happen? It is important to be alert and quickly put a halt to such invasion of privacy.

Log files be lookin real weird lately, something fishy goin on. Whoever think they slick tryna sneak in, better luck next time lol. Me noticing failed logins at 3am like bruh get a life. You really gonna leave your fingerprints all over the auth logs? Nice try with the user agent, pretty sus. Honestly if the firewall had feelings it’d be offended. Guess it’s time to block ya and move along.

man look at this, just found some weird logins happening that dont make sense AT ALL. why so many connection attempts at 3am, nobody is working that late unless ur a hacker or a vampire. lol my firewall is lit up like christmas brought early. honestly got half a mind to block somebody forever. messed up how some folks just poke around random places for fun or whatever. maybe ur just lost bro? anyway, bet you didn't expect an admin with actual eyes on the place. better take your weird tricks elsewhere pal. dont even try it again, this place is locked up tight believe it

Well something is definitely not right with this traffic, got all sorts of weird logins at weird hours. Looks like someone was trying to brute force their way into my server last night. Not cool man, seriously go get a hobby or something. Even their user agent string was busted, like they just mashed random stuff together and hoped for the best. I blocked the source on my firewall for now but honestly this stuff is getting old fast. Time for another password change and maybe even 2FA, ugh more work for me. If you're looking to play hacker maybe try not being so obvious next time.

Saw something super weird coming from a certain spot in my web server logs today. Whoever is poking around at 3 am needs to find a new hobby, seriously get a life. First it's failed logins, then endless password attempts, what are they hoping to find, my cat pictures? Not even original, just the usual noisy traffic from some bored script kiddie. Wish ISPs would actually take care of this sometimes, y'know? Next time, maybe pick an IP that's not already blacklisted by half the internet. Gotta love waking up to the soothing sight of brute force in your dashboard. Maybe I should put up a message "try harder" or something. This week keeps getting better and better.

Looked at my server logs and just about fell outta my chair. Whoever is messing around really needs to learn some manners cause I saw way too many failed logins from the same spot. Not sure if it's some bored kid or bot but this is getting old fast. Fix your stuff or get banned, buddy.

Saw some weird hits in the apache logs last night from a place that shouldn’t be poking around here. First it tried like thirty different admin URLs, which is sus as ****. I checked if the firewall caught it but nothing. WHY would anyone keep spamming pages that don’t even exist? If you’re trying to brute force, at least be creative man. Went through some user agents too and they kept swapping, probably using a crawler or somethin. I blacklisted it for now but let’s see if it comes back with a different address. This stuff is getting old real quick. People really need better hobbies than poking random webservers.
